High Level Neurological Rehabilitation : Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
Some clients who have suffered a brain injury have ‘higher level’ cognitive disturbance which can often prevent them from living a successful and organised life. This is often referred to as Dysexecutive syndrome which occurs when the frontal lobes of the brain have been damaged. In this masterclass, you will learn how to practically support a client with higher level cognitive dysfunction.
These client’s often return to work, hobbies and family life after their injury and are seen to be managing well. However, a deficit in the ‘higher level’ cognitive processes of planning, organising and flexible thinking can be very disabling and can result in low mood and disengagement. This Masterclass will address these issues through formal teaching and individual anonymised case discussion if desired.
